The Secret Pearl

Synopsis
During the eight-year Sino-Japanese war, the Japanese forces run amuck in China. At the German military post in Ching Dao, the Chinese espionage team works diligently against the enemy, while trying to smuggle goods for their troops. One girl secretly works underground and opens a bar called Pearl, which attracts people from all over, including gangster Sun-Yue, and drifter Hsiao Hei.
One day, a batch of munitions is planned for shipment out from the German military warehouse. The girl wants to intercept the shipment and comes up with a plan to steal secret documents from the German Commander. But she needs Sun-yue’s help. As they try to carry out this secret mission, she learns firsthand that war has its casualties.

No Turning Back

Synopsis
Lee Yun-Er is a works at a publishing house. She is single, has been out of school for a while, and is starting to feel pressure form family and friends to get married. But she has a secret.
One day while taking the bus, she meets her neighbor who is in the military. Soon, Lee Yun-Er becomes involved with him. Though it is her first relationship, Yun-Er knows her neighbor has a wife and family. She knows their affair is wrong, but can’t seem to break herself away. She has fallen for him and finds herself stuck on an emotional roller coaster, caught between wanting to be whisked away for a wild ride and standing firmly on her own two feet.

Looking Out At The Sea

Synopsis
While on the train, prostitute Bai Mei runs into her former brothel sister Yin Yin. Yin Yin has married, given birth to a child, and has a happy new life. In meeting Yin Yin , Bai Mei remembers their difficult times at the brothel together, recalling the painful memories.
Back then, Bai Mei, born into a family of six children, was sold to a brothel by her stepfather, so she could make money and support the family. At the brothel, Bai Mei meets a kind-hearted fisherman and decides secretly to have his child. When Bai Mei gets pregnant, she leaves the brothel, and returns to where her mother gave birth to her. After her son is born, Bai Mei decides to take him on the train to go to the fishing port, where she hopes to find the boy’s father. On the way, she looks out at the sea and hopes for her son’s bright future.

The Killer's Elegy

Synopsis
One day, Hong Kong Special Forces ace Detective Lan-Bo, while off-duty at a nightclub, gets into a fight with foolish Weng shih-Chieh. Ex-convicted cop Chang Chi-Hua, who was arrested by Lan-Bo, sees the fight and gets his revenge on Lan-Bo by beating him up in the parking lot. He takes his gun, attacks innocent bystander Kai-Di and Weng Shih-Chieh, frames Lan-Bo, who gets blamed and goes to prison.
Determined to find out who framed him, Lan-Bo escapes form prison. But as he uncovers what really happened, he learns that sometimes the truth may not be as it seems.

Return To The Road Of blood

Synopsis
In 1975, when Vietnam fell into the hands of North Vietnam, one platoon tenaciously fought the North Vietnamese to the bitter end: the Leopard Squadron. When the last of their ammo was used up in battle, Lieutenant Colonel Ruan arranges for the squadron to escape to Hong Kong by boat. While on the ship, they are attacked by bandits. Some are killed while the survivors take refuge in Hong Kong, and try to determine who betrayed them.
Only after the police capture the refugees do they discover that, Lieutenant Colonel Ruan headed the bandit operation that attacked their ship. When these survivors find out the truth, they are determined to find Lieutenant Colonel Ruan and take their revenge.

Oxcart Dowry

Synopsis
Villager A-Hao with simple, near-deaf husband Wan-Fa, lives a poor but simple rural life together with their young son, A-Gou. When young strong drifter Lao Jian moves in next door, A-Hao and Lao Jian, and the villagers start to talk. When word gets to Wan Fa, he becomes very angry. He tries to ignore what is happening, but kicks Lao Jian out. While leaving, distressed Wan-Fa runs over the neighbor’s child while driving his ox cart and is sentenced to prison. When he realizes that there will be no one to take care of his wife and child, he reconsiders the situation. In the end, old Wan-Fa and Lao Jian manager to work things out and make an arrangement everyone can live with.

Young A-Hsin

Synopsis
Young A-Hsin leaves his small hometown, Luodong, to make it in the big city of Taipei. He rents a place and meets a friend in Peng Da and his sister Mao-Mei. They make their living working together at a restaurant, and meet the young cute and loveable Lien-Hua. They become friends as Mao-Mei and Lien-Hua both become attracted to A-Hsin.
At a friend’s wedding, everyone gets drunk, and a fight breaks out another group of youths. In the fight, Peng Da suffers a terrible injury and becomes paralyzed. Because of the fight, A-Hsin descends into a life of crime. The two once-innocent youths face the hardships of life in the city streets.

Fire Baseball Without Wind

Synopsis
In a conservative town, the elementary school principal is facing a severe financial problem. If the only small-league baseball team in the school can’t win again, the school will be shut down. Ms. Lee, a teacher in the school, decides to take on the responsibility as a team coach. However, she has never participated in any official baseball game despite her father’s glorious baseball history. Now the only choice she has is to teach kids to play baseball in a primitive way.
Kao-ming and Yi-luo are on the run because of the glitches that occurred during their gambling for baseball games. Good baseball players like them happen to have the worst luck in the world. They two flee to this small conservative town and encounter the determined Ms. Lee as well as a bunch of adorably cute kids. They slowly develop a bond together and focus on training these kids to become professional baseball players.
The story unravels: how will they deal with mafia’s hunting? How will they help this small league win? How will they resolve all the crisis?…

He And She

Synopsis
Saya, an aboriginal girl from A-mei tribe, had been dreaming about becoming a successful singer. Before any golden opportunity struck her, she tried all sorts of temp jobs including being an extra, modeling, singer at a local pub, and working for fast-food restaurant, mainly for survival. She simply hoped she could perform on stage and became a Cinderella some day.
Jason, the only son from a wealthy family, grew up overseas and protected. For three “mothers” in this family, Jason’s future marriage is far more important than anything else in the world. The day before he went back to Taipei for his wedding, the couple had had some quarrels and his to-be-bride had run away. Jason’s mother was worried about the family’s “face” and pride, also afraid of becoming two concubines’ laughing stock. She then, using money in exchange, persuaded Saya, whom she ran into while the latter was a model in the wedding shop, to act as Jason’s bride during the wedding ceremony. They two agreed to “fake” this marriage for a month.
Saya and Jason showed tremendous hostility toward each other in the very beginning, yet started to grow on each other as time passed by. During a trip back to the tribe, Jason realized Saya is a mother of a daughter. Three of them developed strong attachment and affections. However, Jason’s mother soon found out that Saya was a mother of a daughter, and strongly opposed to their relationship. She further rescinded the agreement between her and Saya. Saya had no choice but left sadly. Jason then understood Saya was the love of his life, yet had to face all the obstacles between them two…

Synopsis

The Cabbie

Synopsis
Aside from shrinks and priests, who else listens to people’s deepest, darkest secrets as often as cabbies do?
SU Daquan’s home is his father’s taxi company, where there are always cabbies hanging around. Growing up in this environment, he naturally developed a great interest in driving at an early age. In adolescence, when his peers were driving scooters without licenses, he was driving a car without a license. For him, bad grades at school didn’t matter, but if he drove poorly or didn’t pass his driving test on the first try, now that would be something to be ashamed of for the rest of his life!
Now a young man, he only loves cars, not women-until one day out of the blue he experiences love at first sight. From that point on, traffic violations, tickets, a revoked license, these are nothing to him, because all he wants is to win this girl’s heart…
The young cabbie SU Daquan tells a lighthearted story through his life experiences.

Synopsis
Hong and Jean have been in a relationship for 7 years.
On Hong’s 27th birthday, Jean secretly makes a down payment on a small apartment. When Hong finds out what Jean has done, he is not happy. Hong tells her that they cannot afford such a heavy financial commitment. Since the beginning of their relationship, Jean had always wanted a home of their own. Hong’s reaction greatly disappoints Jean. She starts to doubt that she and Hong have a future. Despite having invested 7 years, Jean wonders if they should separate.
The next seven days is the story of the crisis point in their relationship. Their deteriorating relationship is reaching its end… But, it is also a chance for a new beginning.
