- Synopsis
A newly graduated school teacher assigned to a tiny primary school in an isolated aborigine village in the mountains, finds to her despair that everything she encounters is a far cry from her anticipation. A schweitzer-minded young physician with an ugly face and shabby appearance, a vivacious Catholic nun, the innocent and carefree school children, a cunning and fraudlent grocer, the ingenuous and naïve villagers content with little but rice wine, and an old father-like policemen – all these interweave into an intriguing, humorous and unexpectedly-developing story permeated with heart-stirring songs never to fall into oblivion .
